The minimum information needed to record your mammal observation is:

Recording Notes
for a list of them

date

Ordnance Survey grid reference, preferably at least six figures, for example SE450892

locality - nearest town / village
-
ID certainty - 1 absolutely certain; 2 certain; 3 reasonably sure; 4 uncertain; 5 very uncertain
Additional information that would be helpful:
-
how observed - for example, seen in field / dead on road / footprint / droppings
-
how many, if more than one
-
altitude (in metres)
-
age (for larger mammals) - adult or juvenile
-
gender, if close enough to see
